Montanans: Yellowstone's wild buffalo need your immediate help

February 2014

Dear Friend,

We urgently need Montanans to speak out in defense of Yellowstone's wild buffalo today.

For the first time in years, wild buffalo -- also known as bison -- from Yellowstone National Park are being captured and shipped off to slaughter this winter. Tragically, dozens have been sent off to be killed in the past week.

Last year, Montana officials proposed giving wild buffalo from Yellowstone access to the year-round habitat they so urgently need and deserve, but no decision has been made yet.

Please come to the rescue of buffalo by sending a short e-mail to Montana Governor Steve Bullock at:

Here are some key points you might include:

1. I want to see significant year-round habitat opened up for wild buffalo in Montana outside Yellowstone National Park.

2. I'm sick and tired of the black eye that slaughtering wild buffalo gives the entire State of Montana.

3. I want to see you provide leadership on this issue and help solve this problem by opening up the thousands and thousands of acres of conflict-free habitat outside the Park.

With so many changes over the past decade and overwhelming public support for wild buffalo outside the Park, closing off tens of thousands of acres of public land to wild buffalo in Montana can no longer be justified.

With wild buffalo from Yellowstone being shipped to slaughter, it's critical that Governor Bullock hears from you today.

Please send him a short e-mail as soon as you can. And once you've done so, please let me know by replying to this e-mail so we can track the progress of this effort.

Thank you for speaking up for Yellowstone's wild buffalo.
