Revive a Rainforest

Plant a Rainforest Tree

Save Wildlife & Fight the Climate Crisis -- All for $10
  • .

The Revive a Rainforest campaign in Costa Rica is part of the Natural Resources Defense Council's BioGems initiative to save wildlife and wildlands across the Americas.

Costa Rica is best known for its lush rainforests and spectacular wildlife. Yet many of Costa Rica’s rainforest species – including spider monkeys, jaguars, ocelots and scarlet macaws -- are in great danger.

The major culprit? The destruction of forests.

And deforestation hurts more than wildlife. The clearcutting of forests across the globe emits more global warming pollution than all of the world's cars, trucks and planes combined.

But you can take one simple step to help reverse this trend: Plant a tree.

For only $10, you can be part of NRDC's exciting Revive a Rainforest campaign.

As a result of our initiative, nearly 30,000 new trees have already taken root across 74 acres of barren pastureland in Costa Rica’s Central Valley.

Now, we have identified a separate stretch of degraded terrain on Costa Rica’s Osa Peninsula -- one of the most biologically diverse regions on the planet.

With your help, we can plant 25,000 new trees on these abandoned pasture and plantation lands – and transform this area into a thriving sanctuary for rare and threatened native wildlife including macaws, monkeys and jaguars.

Our new rainforest will help slow global warming by capturing carbon pollution from the atmosphere and storing it away for centuries.

When you plant a tree in your own name ... and as a gift in the names of your friends and family ... you'll be planting a better future for our planet.
